We drive policy advocacy and initiatives to enhance food security, sustainable agriculture, and gender equity. By fostering collaboration and holding the government accountable, we aim to create inclusive, resilient agricultural systems that support community development.

Our Approach

SEND GHANA’s flagship program in agriculture, Food Security Through Co-operatives in Northern Ghana (FOSTERING), has been instrumental in promoting sustainable food systems, increasing income, and enhancing gender equity since 1998. Implemented in partnership with the Ghana Co-operative Credit Unions Association (CUA) and the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada), with funding from Global Affairs Canada and CDF Canada, the program focuses on the resource-poor Eastern Corridor of Ghana. By empowering local communities through cooperatives, the initiative has significantly improved food and nutrition security in beneficiary areas.
