Feed Ghana programme delays could affect farmers and food security if inputs do not reach the right people on time.
SEND GHANA has raised concern over the slow distribution of agricultural inputs under the government’s Feed Ghana programme, especially as the planting season has begun in parts of the country.
Speaking on Joy News Prime, SEND GHANA’s Deputy Country Director, Alhaji Mumuni Mohammed, said farmers and local agriculture departments still lack clear information on when they will receive fertilizers, seeds, feed, and other promised supplies.
The concern is simple: late support can become wasted support.
When farmers receive inputs after the right planting window, the programme may fail to deliver its intended results. It also increases the risk that resources meant for active farmers may not reach the people who need them most.
SEND GHANA is calling for:
- Clear timelines for input distribution
- Better communication with farmers and district agriculture offices
- Stronger coordination in programme implementation
- Timely delivery of support before the season is missed
Agricultural support works best when it reaches farmers at the right time.
