Children who bath and walk in the Densu River often contract Schistosomiasis. In addition, there is shortage of medications for its cure.

Since February, education has been ongoing about the dangers of bathing and walking in the Densu river. The security guard has been advised not to allow school children close to the river.

To address the issue of medications, students from the Koforidua Polyclinic  are working and have appealed for support from Tobinco pharmaceuticals
