DA and DHMT committed to provide mobile health services to the people of Tafiasi as a temporary measure.

A temporary structure with accommodation for the nurse is been provided to serve as a CHPS compound whilst the nurse stays there and provide services to the people. The people no longer travel long distances to Tumu and other nearby villages to access health. Below are testimonies from community members;

“We are happy now, given that we have this temporal facility in our own community with the health officer at post, access to healthcare has become much easier, there is a sense of belonging and ownership, we no longer engage in self-medications, even if there are no drugs available at the facility, the nurse will always prescribe for you to buy from Tumu. The availability of the facility has increased the number of people who now access healthcare because some community members who hitherto, felt reluctant to seek healthcare due to barriers created by distance and money now do so without difficulty.

“We feel happy than before, the comfort in accessing services at our door steps is beyond description as compared to the past where we really struggled. Even though we greatly appreciate what the authorities have done for us, we are hopeful and looking forward to getting a well-equipped facility to enhance service delivery because that is what the Assembly promised us when they came to educate us about the budget.
