To increase the knowledge and awareness of citizens on maternal health issues and the need for them to honor their tax obligation for effective maternal health service delivery

Output
  • Before the sensitization durbar, pre-test survey conducted by the DHMT. Indicated that Taali community and its environs recorded the highest mortality rate due to their inadequate knowledge on maternal health care and taxation and just a handful had NHI insurance cards hence the venue of the durbar.
  • However, after the durbar, the community saw the need to pay tax and requested the DA to allow 2 natives of Taali to be revenue collectors in Taali to ease revenue collection.
  • They also saw the need to take good care of their pregnant women and encourage them to go to hospital early before is too late which was identify as the main cost of the high rate of maternal mortality in the area.
  • Besides this, the community demanded from the chairman for the durbar who doubled as NHI manager to ensure that the community members are registered. He promised to arrange a car free of charge to convey them to Bimbilla for registration as soon as possible the community indicated the date convenience to them.
