To elicit the views, aspirations and expectations of citizens on the 2018 National Budget on Education, Health, and  Social Protection Programmes (LEAP) and use the views and recommendations elicited to develop a citizen budget to be presented to the relevant ministries for  consideration.

• It provided a space for citizens to understand government priorities for 2017 budget on education and health and that enabled them to share their concerns, interest and inputs for the 2018 budget.
• The workshop provided them with the opportunity to make specific demands for budgetary allocation for education, health and social protection programmes.
• Again, the programme created an avenue for the extreme and marginalized groups such as persons with disability, LEAP beneficiaries to make specific inputs that seek to address their special needs.
• Citizens’ inputs can be used as an indicator to track and measure government responsiveness to their needs and demands.
• Participants largely rated the workshop as timely and very relevant. “I wish to commend SEND Ghana for this rare opportunity created for us to participate in this programme, we see some of these on the Television but today we are privilege to make our voices heard as far as the budget process is concerned”-District Director Health, Sissala West. Another prominent participant, Naa Boblogah had this to say “SEND GHANA is an action and thought provoking organization that gives voice to the voiceless like they have given us today; it is our hope that our inputs will find expression in the national budget”.
