Listeners of Obonu FM were enlightened on the causes of malaria, its prevention and treatment

There were two callers during the discussion;

First caller: He wanted to know if he can self-medicate if you perceive you have malaria. The caller also mentioned that he has not seen fumigation being undertaken in his community.

Response: The resource person indicated that before taking any medication it is required that you get tested at the health facility first to confirm your status. Second caller:   He wanted to know whether malaria drugs can be taken to prevent one from getting malaria infection.

Response: It was indicated that it depends and should be by the directive of a medical professional. It was recommended that listeners always go for a checkup before taking any drug or tablet.
