Purpose

The objectives of the policy dialogues are in three folds;

  • Share and discuss findings of the FSUP research with district level stakeholders.
  • Elicit commitments from stakeholders to address issues raised and build consensus to provide support for the implementation of commitments.
  • Develop a plan for effective follow up on commitments by stakeholders.

Output
  • 21 participants (14m, 7f) took part in the dialogue session.
  • Stakeholder gained useful feedback in the implementation of the programme in the district.
  • Commitments on addressing some of the key issues from the findings were secured from key stakeholders.
  • An action plan (see below) for the implementation of the commitment was drawn to ensure effective follow up.

Commitments

  • Table issues raised in the report at District Education Oversight Committee meeting for discussion on the way forward.
  • Establish a committee at district level in collaboration with education directorate to be in charge of receipt, sorting, distribution and monitoring of the uniforms.
  • Set up committees at the circuit level to include SMC/PTA and sensitize them on the Free School Uniform policy.
  • Collaborate with school heads to identify and profile    needy/vulnerable pupils.
