• The CSOs will know the NGGA project background, goals, principles, approaches and the roles they are expected to play individually and as coalitions to achieve them. It will highlight the agricultural development theme and consider a comprehensive approach for joint action from the NGO actors towards policy influencing.
• The Female focused groups will consider the most effective ways of bringing together like-minded groups for aggregating opinions on gender rights in agricultural development.
• The NGGA will gather data from the interaction and networking to form the nexus for forming the Regional Multi-stakeholder Platform ( RASSGOP) and District Multi-stakeholder Platform (DASSGOP),
• NGGA will tap into the repertoire/expertise of CSOs for basic data on component strategy development – (where to begin-What, how, Who, Where when etc) and leverage workable lessons from field practice

1. A total of 46 participants were sensitized to have a basic understanding of the NGGA project and the opportunities and space in the agriculture sector for CSOs.
2. Participants committed to strengthen collaboration between NGOs, CSOs and MoFA to ensure and promote effective communication and implementation of Agric projects.
3. At the end of the group discussions, the following action points were realised;

What contribution do you envisage the Platform can make to the development of agriculture?

• Strengthen effective collaboration with Agric institutions (MoFA)
• Evidence gathering and research for advocacy
• Education and sensitization on agric policies, projects and available resources
• Inputs into Agric planning, budgeting and monitoring
• Build capacity of farmers to track and demand accountability from duty beares at the local level
• Use ICT(social media to update and share information)

Based on the opportunities/spaces available, what will be the role of the Platform in agriculture development

• Information seeking, sharing and networking
• Prevent duplication and repetition of projects
• formation of umbrella oranaizations to amplify voice of CSOs
• Resource mobilization

What are the pressing advocacy issues in the agricultural sector?

• Advocacy for implementation of Maputo Declaration
• Demamd accountability on agric expenditure by various institutions
• Climate change advocacy

4. Participants   agreed that NGGA help strengthen an already existing CSOs platform on agriculture in the northern region.
