The objectives of the sensitization are geared towards building citizen awareness on the need to;

• Establish household toilets and how to address district and community specific WASH challenges
• Understand the importance CETS and how to set them up as outlined in the CHPS implementation guidelines.

• A total of 2,995 (comprising 1,212men and 1,783women) community members were reached in the twenty 25 communities as shown in the appendix below
• Out of the 25 communities sensitized, 6 communities did not have CETS committees in place. Volunteers were identified in these communities to facilitate the establishment of CETS committees.
• It was also observed that, communities that had CETS committees in place were dormant. In those communities, the committees were strengthened and citizens admonished to support them to function properly.
• It was also observed that, Montondo in Yendi was the only the community that had achieved open defecation free (ODF).
