Teachers, parents appeal for free data: <\/strong>Some schools, particularly private ones and parents have appealed to the network providers for free data to facilitate e- teaching and learning in the country during this period of COVID-19. Most of the schools have set up parent-teacher platforms through which exercises are forwarded to parents or guardians for their children to have access to lesson notes and homework. GES partners Zoomlion to disinfect, fumigate second-cycle institutions across the country : <\/strong>The Ghana Education Service (GES) has partnered waste management giant, Zoomlion Ghana Ltd, for a nationwide fumigation and disinfection exercise that will cover both public and private second-cycle institutions across the country. The exercise is aimed at fighting the coronavirus spread and ridding second cycle boarding houses of parasites such as bedbugs. Senior High Schools (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVETS) and Special Schools across the country will benefit from the exercise. Read more<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Over 100 e-learning platforms receive boost from Telcos amid lockdown : <\/strong>The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications (GCT) has allowed free access to over 100 educational online sites, e-learning platforms and libraries (public, private and foreign) to enable students continue with academic activities from the comfort of their homes. KNUST makes Ghana\u2019s first homemade ventilator: <\/strong>The College of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has reached the advanced stage in the design and construction of a homemade ventilator. The project, a joint work between the College\u2019s Computer Engineering Department and Michigan Technological University, United States (US), is expected to boost health service delivery for patients with breathing deficiencies and disorders. University of Ghana scientists make breakthrough into tracking of COVID-19 virus: <\/strong>Scientists at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens both at the University of Ghana have obtained information about the virus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected many countries globally.The samples were taken from travellers from UK, Norway, Hungary, India, United States, and the United Arab Emirates as well as nine from persons who had no history of t ravel and believed to have had community infections. ISD Is Doing The Needed Education, Ag Director: <\/strong>The Information Services Department (ISD) says it is carrying out the needed sensitization on the COVID-19 disease in all communities across the country.  The ISD is collaborating with district assemblies for the use of their vehicles for the exercise due to inadequacy of their van.

COVID-19: GLICO Partners The Military To Educate Ghanaians Using Helicopters: <\/strong>GLICO Life insurance company together with the Ghana Armed Forces is embarking on an educative campaign to help curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus also known as COVID-19. Dubbed and hush tagged \u201c#Stayhome<\/em>\u201d campaign, the military with a branded GLICO helicopters will be flying over some areas including Kasoa, Nsawam, Prampram, and its environs to educate indigenes on the need to stay home.
