Introduction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2013, SEND GHANA remained a key advocate for pro poor programs despite economic challenges, rising inflation, and reduced donor funding. The organisation worked through its flagship initiatives, the Grassroots Economic Literacy and Advocacy Programme (GELAP), Eastern Corridor Livelihood Security Promotion Programme (ECLSPP), and Social Enterprise Development Foundation (SENDFiNGO) to promote good governance, equitable resource allocation, and sustainable livelihoods. Over 31,000 Ghanaians benefited directly from its interventions which addressed policy engagement, maternal health, agricultural resilience, women\u2019s economic empowerment, and financial inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Governance and Advocacy<\/strong> \u2013 Facilitated 196 advocacy sessions, policy dialogues, and training events across 60 districts, leading to improved accountability in the District Assemblies Common Fund, better maternal health services, and enhanced monitoring of NHIS and CHPS.
Agriculture and Livelihood<\/strong>s \u2013 Supported 1,667 households in farmer cooperatives, established women managed woodlots, and promoted climate resilience, achieving significant gains in food security and income generation.
Financial Empowerment<\/strong> \u2013 Through SENDFiNGO, served over 20,000 clients, revived distressed credit unions, and enabled 329 women to graduate from microfinance to credit union membership, increasing access to larger loans.
Research and Policy Influence<\/strong> \u2013 Partnered with research institutions and media to influence agricultural and environmental policies, tackled issues like illegal mining and aflatoxin contamination, and advocated for increased budgetary support to smallholder farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
